When I moved in to my own place last year I wasn't scared at first. I think it's just the adrenaline rush of owning my own home, but for those first few weeks I didn't think twice about the fact that I lived in the house all by myself. That all changed when I heard about a break-in only four houses down from mine. I started worrying about what would happen if something like that were to happen at my house in the middle of the night. The first thing I did was get a dog, a big, big dog. That was kind of twofold though because I had always wanted a dog in this was the perfect excuse for me to get one. And now I have a reason to utilize the big backyard! Now I feel much better about staying here all alone and I finally feel like a real homeowner!
