WHAT A PROFIT!

This guest post from Lenny Mcknight

I was checking my eBay auctions all day at work today using our Long Island T1 connection. Usually, I don’t do personal things and even refrain from checking my personal e-mail while I am at work, but today I was just too excited that I had to get on my eBay account. I listed a dress for sale that I picked up at an estate sale for five dollars. When I got it home, it was too big for me, so I decided that I would list it on-line. It turns out that the dress was a Cecil Chapman gown ( a pretty famous designer). I didn’t know until I did some research when my auction started edging higher and higher who Cecil Chapman was. He dressed the likes of Audrey Hepburn and Marylin Monroe back in the day. The auction really caught my attention when it tipped one hundred dollars. I was expecting like twenty bucks max. I felt like everyt ime I checked the auction it was just inching up and up. I got so excited that I had to get my boss ( who appreciates fashion) to see what I had come across. She was excited and wanted me to keep checking. It finally sold for 225! What a profit!

NORDIC SWEATER

Thanks for the guest post by Jo Levy

I have been combing Ebay using my bellingham clear internet connection and other on-line auction and vintage sites, trying to find an awesome knit Nordic sweater. I decided that I wanted one after our last ski trip. I used to think that they were just for older women, but now, I think that I am at the age that I really like them! All of the sweaters that I saw in the stores that I liked were upwards of three hundred dollars. They were all fine wool and beautifully knit. I have found a few that I am interested in on Ebay, but you really never know how they are going to fit. The ones that I really liked didn’t have a return policy, so I was still without an awesome Nordic sweater until yesterday. I decided to stop by our Goodwill Thrift Store to just see what they had. I was combing through the women’s racks, and I couldn’t believe my eyes! I found an awesome Nordic sweater that was one hundred percent alpaca, hand knit, a great pattern, and my favorite color, light pink!

Got My Coach Sneakers, Ready for Summer!

Even though it's only spring, it feels like summer.  The summer is my favorite season.  I love everything about it.  Summer means I get to sport my Coach sneakers, Coach sunglasses and other products.  Yes, Coach is one of my favorite designer brands.  When I fall head over heals over a brand, I will wear all the products they offer down to the fragrance and watches.   So, I'm ready!

Taking out my Coach wristlets I got over the holidays.  Taking my new sneakers out of their boxes.  I have to remember to restock the fragrances.  I use them everyday and I am almost out.

Now all I have to do is hit the G Y M every week day and I'm D O N E!

Back to the Dorms?

Guest post by Gerard Mcdaniel

I have been surprised that new york energy rates are much cheaper than I expected them to be. I relocated to Manhattan last spring because I was starting a doctoral program at NYU in the fall. I had always dreamed about living in the Big Apple. I love it that I am finally here and studying what I love. I knew that New York City was going to be expensive, but I really did not estimate correctly just how expensive it was going to be. I have already plowed through my savings and am living paycheck to paycheck. Luckily, I have an assistantship in my program and get a stipened and tuition waver from the school. Everything in New York is more expensive, except for my power bill! I do need to take into account that my NYC apartment is so small that it is probably less expensive to heat! If I am really out of money by December. I may have to leave my small apartment and move into an even smaller NYU dorm. I hope that won’t be the case!

Sports Addiction

Post contributed by Noah Schmidt.

My husband and I are both so addicted to watching Sports on Direct TV. We like all different kinds of sports, so we watch different sports channels all the time. My favorite Directv feature is definitely the NFL Sunday Ticket. I am a huge NFL fan so it’s perfect for me. We are kind of upset that it looks like there isn’t going to be an NBA season this year. Right now we aren’t that sad yet because both NFL and NCAA football are both still on. I’m sure we’ll really start to feel the void once the football ends. We just love having all of these sports channels at our fingertips. Since we have such great accessibility to sports games, our house has become the hangout for our group of friends. It’s nice that everyone comes to us and that we get to see out friends so often without spending loads of money watching our games at a bar. I don’t have any complaints at all about our sports package. It is definitely much better now than when we had cable.

Animal Love

Contribution by Stevie Kirby

My love has always been animals so it just made sense that when I graduated college I would do something with them for my profession. I knew I couldn’t be a vet because it would be too hard to watch them suffer so I decided to open a dog store instead – it’s been amazing! I love waking up every day knowing I get to go in and play with all my best furry customers and also that I own my own business. Who doesn’t love the flexibility? I get to make all the decisions, from www.bank-card-processing.com packages to vendors to the whole pricing structure and the best part is I get to hire who I want. I know it doesn’t sound like much but I feel freer than I ever have before and there’s definitely something to be said for going to work doing something you love each morning, you know? I feel like I’m just lucky to be at this place in my life and I have my creativity and imagination to thank!

Enjoying Picking Out Decor for a Dorm Room

Guest post written by Jessica Hewitt

One of the things that I really wanted to make sure went smoothly for my daughter in her transition from high school to college is her dorm room decor. You spend so much time in your dorm room, whether you're hanging out with friends or studying, but sometimes it can be really tough living with a roommate for the first time. Luckily for my daughter, her roommate is one of her friends from high school so she doesn't have to worry about if she'll like her new roommate or not.

I've been helping them track down some cute decorations for them to use in the dorm room before we go and move them in. I was online looking up some ideas for storage for their room when I ran across the website http://CLEARWIRELESSinternet.com. After I looked through it a little bit, I decided to change over our home internet access to that provider.

We've come up with some really great dorm room decorations, like these vintage looking sheets that I sewed into curtains for them, along with some hooks from an antique store that they're going to use to hold them back when they want light in their room. I think that they're going to make a great roommate pair.

On Leave

This guest post from Doris Dillon

When I moved in to my own place last year I wasn't scared at first. I think it's just the adrenaline rush of owning my own home, but for those first few weeks I didn't think twice about the fact that I lived in the house all by myself. That all changed when I heard about a break-in only four houses down from mine. I started worrying about what would happen if something like that were to happen at my house in the middle of the night. The first thing I did was get a dog, a big, big dog. That was kind of twofold though because I had always wanted a dog in this was the perfect excuse for me to get one. And now I have a reason to utilize the big backyard! After that I spent some time online at www.allhomeSECURITY.com researching different security systems that the made sense for my type of house. Now I feel much better about staying here all alone and I finally feel like a real homeowner!

What has me tuned in since the first night for Storage Wars?

Thanks for the post from Deborah Kline

I never ever thought that I would tune in episode after episode for a television series about people buying foreclosed storage units and turning them into cash. However, Storage Wars came along and swept me up right along with it.

The multiple personalities from Dave who is aggressive in each bid (sometimes he does it just to drive up the price for the other bidders) to Dan the Collector who goes after the storage units crammed full of stuff that a collector had.

When you don't pay for your storage bill, they will lock it up and folks like those on Storage Wars will bid on it just for a chance to earn a little bit of cash in the long run. Storage Wars is a new, but very popular television series that I watch on A&E HD (this comes with the premium channels I get from DirectStarTv.com).

If you're all about rags to riches, come watch some of these folks from California battle it out to fill their consignment stores with goods and fill their bank accounts with money. It gets brutal every time!

Finding the Right Atlanta Roofing Contractor

Some of the initial questions people have when trying to get in touch with the right Atlanta roofing contractor may have to do with pricing, estimates, and inspections. The choices available to the potential customer are limitless and are usually tailored to the home, building, roof pitch, etc.

It is always instrumental to take a look at some of the restrictions that may be effective in the area with regard to Atlanta roofing.

When it comes to inspections and estimates, it is essential to find a local roofing company that can perform all of the necessary tasks effectively, using only the finest materials and demonstrating the highest levels craftsmanship.

In addition, maintaining services from only licensed and insured technicians will assure that the project goes as seamlessly as possible. The roofing company in question needs to be factory trained by an abundance of manufacturers, which will ensure only the best results.

Some of the fundamental experience and services in reputable Atlanta roofing companies include work on flat roofs, tile roofs, general roof maintenance, new roofing, steep roofing, asphalt roofing, shingle roofs, and a lot more.

Shingle roofs have a lifespan of roughly twenty years, and metal roofs normally outlast shingle roofs by about thirty years. But any roof, no matter how good the quality is can never last forever. In those instances, a simple repair job may not be the answer; it may be time for a new roof.

When looking at the reasons behind finding the right type of roof, it is up to the homeowner to decide how to select the right contractor. The construction of the roof is essential to the efficiency of energy in the home. So homeowners should not just trust any roofing contractor, as there are certainly a plethora of uninformed, inexperienced roofers in the business.

A good way to begin the search is to ask friends and coworkers about their roofing projects and which Atlanta roofing companies were used in the process. Generally speaking, people spend a lot of money on their roofs, so they typically are interested in giving as much detail about the experience as possible.

Some of the questions may include whether or not the workers were on-time, what materials were used, and if the contractors cleaned up after the job was completed; these important questions will jumpstart the individual in the right direction to finding a good Atlanta roofing contactor

Perfect Vacation and Perfect Peace of Mind

Thanks to my friend Kirsten Gally for the guest post

We recently visited the amazing Disney World amusement park located in Orlando, Florida. Our family had not been to the Disney/Epcot attraction since the early 90s and we were tremendously pleased and delighted by the large number of new rides and shows that were now present.

Our group was rather large since it included our own family of 5, both sets of grandparents, 3 of our kids' best friends and my sister and her family of 4. We have decided that taking a trip to Disney World is much more fun when you have a large group to share in the excitement and adventure. The only negative moment was when my parents got a call from a friend who told them there had been two homes in our neighborhood had been burglarized. I reassured my parents that we had no need to worry because I had set our home security alarm before leaving the house to travel to the Disney World theme park and we would receive an adt alert if anything were to happen.

Of course Space Mountain was one of the great rides we all got to experience, but the family really enjoyed the fun of riding Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and the wet but wild log flume that is part of Splash Mountain. We rode the monorail to Epcot and there we ate Moroccan influenced food and got to go for a challenging and bumpy ride on Epcot's very popular Test Track. Since we were staying at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort every moment of our Walt Disney World adventure was pure joy.

Sick of the Telemarketers

Do you ever get phone calls from straange phone numbers? If you do, I know how you feel. Having 7 kids (5 teens), I get tons of calls. Even though I have caller ID, there are times the phone shows a number, but no name. Then there are times that we get calls with out of state area codes. I'm not crazy about doing surveys for telemarketers, but who is?

Wouldn't it be great if you could compare the strange phone numbers that call you, to other people's experiences? Actually, there is a place that offers this service. The site is www.reportphonenumbers.com. and is is full of phone numbeers. Anyone can add their experiences to the site. Go ahead, tell them about the telemarketer that ruined your dinner. That's what the site is for.

Visit the site and be sure to look for the phone number that is disturbing your peace...
